A stroll round Traditional London!

Jamie and I went into town today to get a few last minute things for school tomorrow and also to see some lovely Monet's at the RA (actually there were lots of lovely other artists too, but Monet was the best!) We started at Picadilly Circus. . . . . . .

Eros is looking lovely again after a long term facelift. It was a shame I couldn't frighten the pigeons away!

After a quick trip into Lillywhites to buy school things (well it was supposed to be quick, but Jamie had this month's pocket money burning a hole in the aforementioned pocket) we went for a look at the Impressionists by the Sea, an exhibitition at the Royal Academy. As ever their courtyard almost was the best bit (except I am a sucker for seaside paintings... remember all those boats on the Isle of Wight??) Today, it was dianasoars! Who would have expected them to be roaming Central London without Steven Spielberg making a movie about it?? As long as they don't break the law.. God forbid they try taking any illegal photographs of ooooooooh let's say the Houses of Parliament!

The police don't seem remotely bothered by the fact that this one is eating the pink geraniums!

On leaving the Royal Academy we could hear a lot of noise from Regent's Street, where they were holding an 'Indian Summer' There was plenty of noise, music, colour, spicy smells etc etc. It looked great. these gentlemen looked the best though!

and that's a typical day in London. . . . . It's what I love about my city. You go out to see some paintings that are over 150 years old, meet some dinasoars and fall into an Indian Summer, fight the tourists (and pigeons) to get an Okayish photo of a tourist spot, spend far too much money and then go home!
