Corbiere Lighthouse is the UK's most southerly lighthouse. Built in 1873 to protect sailors from some lethal looking rocks it has saved countless lives. It also happens to be a most beautiful spot, possibly the most picturesque corner of a very picturesque island. We were staying in appartments at Corbiere Phare, a restaurant/bar next to the lighthouse and almost all these photos were taken from the terrace. A couple were taken during an evening walk across the causeway at Low Tide. I particularly like this photo, it is (when not condensed for this website) a lovely deep purple colour. .
