London Zoo 9th June - A selction of my favourite animals

There is a new Gorilla Enclosure at London Zoo 'Gorilla Island' The enclosure is fab, and you can get very close to these marvellous creatures

The Giraffes have a new viweing platform which is at their head height. They are beautiful animals, with eyelashes to die for!

The Lions were pretty sleepy as it was a hot day. We visited them a few times (It's a relatively small zoo, well what zoo isn't compared to Chester?) and this was the only time he was awake. She slept the whole afternoon. I would like to be a lioness.

A Golden headed Lion Tamarind. Very cute but not a natural camera-lover. It's a bit blurry, sorry!

The tiger was hidden away fast asleep for most of the afternoon and then pacing very quickly around his enclosure when we returned. He quickly went back to sleep, so this was the only halfway decent shot I managed

The Zebras dd not want to come out to play at Chester Zoo, so it was nice to see them today at London, even if they mainly showed their bottoms. Zebras must be one of the most beautiful creatures.... I will have to go back!
