Views from a bridge - early morning from Waterloo Bridge

You would think after my late night last night that I deserved a lie in this morning didn't you?? No such luck . . . Thde alarm went off at six and by 6.35 I was shivering on Waterloo bridge. It was pretty dark at that time, but changed pretty quickly..... Previously I have taken pictures at dawn from Hungerford bridge, but Waterloo is much nicer. you just have to cross the road to get a completely different view :-

Wembley - outside during the match

I went up to Wembley this evening as England were playing Kazakhstan (won 5 -1!!) I wanted to take some long exposure shots like this first one.....
but got there early while it was still just about light. . . It's the first time I have been to Wembley when it has been sunny can you believe?? The first half was abnormally quiet, it was obvious that there were no goals scored.. and that England were playing pants!
At half time I was astonished to see about 2-300 people leave the match.. apparantly it was unbelievably boring.. but still it was 0-0 all to play for.. very strange behaviour. . . Shortly after the lights came on and the arch was lit up!!
Just after the first cheered indicated an England goal (Rio Ferdinand lucky header I believe) the police horses turned up!! Given my past experiences with the police (and photography I hasten to add) I was a little nervous, but it would seem I didn't look like an international terrorist tonight!!
and with 25 minutes to go people started leaving.. a trickle at first . . . .
but with tem minutes to go it was a steady stream . . . I knew it was time to leave when the flag and scarf sellers turned up...

I've got my eye on you

I can for just once, say I am quite happy with this photograph!! I love the mix of colours, the gnarled tree stump and the heron watching me struggling with my lens!

All that Glitters is not gold

Ooooooh Spider!!

The sun shines on Richmond Park

Halleluja !!! There was a funny yellow thing in the sky today.. what a beautiful morning. I decided to skip off a couple of hours work and have a walk in Richmond Park.. I was on a deer hunt!! .. . . but first of all this heron demanded attention. I am so disappointed that I could not get him pin-sharp.. but time was limited and I had to snap fast. The colour of the grass, with the slight low-level mist was magical.. as was the tree stump his majesty was posing on!!
It's a beautiful park at any time of the year, but autumn is wondrous!! Plus I wondered why I had not had the sense to bring a bike.. it was a long walk.. and my feet were wet!
but the deer were in their favourite spot just beyond sheen gate. . . . Bambi darted past first . . .

and then I got watching this stag.. he was a randy old bugger, trying it on with all the girls and using his muscles if any of the boys dared wander anywhere near!

this is my 'Not tonight darling, I've got a headache' photo

Come on give me a break, I haven't taken a photo for weeks!!
and just as I got back to the car, I spotted Narcissus here! Mirror mirror on the wall (wall??) and all that.. and eating pond weed too I guess!! Lets hope for more sun, I have such good ideas for a photo on Saturday!!
